Through the implementation of the projects under NPDD following are the achievements during the Year:
- The entire Central Dairy Plant at Mawiong has been renovated
- New machineries has been
- The capacity of the plant has been upgraded from the 10,000 LPD to 50,000
- At present, milk is collected through three insulated Road Milk Tankers from the following Societies Umlyngka, Mawklot and Iatyllilang DCS. Milk is also collected in milk cans and transported to the Central Dairy Plant in four trucks provided by the State Government.
- Introduction of 3 mobile milk testing
- The Union has installed 5 Milk Can Coolers (MCC) of 320 litres per day capacity in Mawmerang DCS, Thangshalai DCS, Puriang DCS, Umsaw Mawjynrong DCS and Buhtilang Janiaw DCS which are all
- Similarly, the Union has installed AMCUs in all the DCS provided with BMC and
- During the period from April 2019 to March 2020, the milk marketed by the Milk Union has seen a gradual increase with minimal cream separation during the winter
Apart from the usual activities, the Union also performed other activities in serving the community as a whole especially during the Lockdown due to COVID-19.
- The Milk Union under the brand ‘Na Ri’ procured and marketed over 50 tonnes of fruits and Vegetables from the Local
- Handled the Chief Minister’s Care Packages for packaging and delivery of 14000 plus packages for Quarantined Families during the 1st Wave COVID – 19 in East Khasi Hills District.
- Supplied Care Packages for the Ri Bhoi District
- Trained and developed over 60 volunteers on administrative and technical
- Distribution of free milk and vegetables to old age Homes, Orphanages and frontline workers during various occasions.
- Providing free rations to the under privileged households in collaboration with various NGO(s).
- Expanded established Marketing outlets under the brand name “Na Ri Essentials” to promote marketing of milk & milk products, local products/produce and other essential
- Expanded the online shopping apart from milk & milk products to other essential commodities at narifresh.com.
